Couple, a work on commission. OIl on canvas 89 x 130 cm.

This is the hardest work of this last year. I was contacted by a man who went to my painting by internet. He liked my work. He asked me for a painting of him and his wife. He said he wanted a portrait to show his love to his wife who is ill now.

I have found the idea wonderfull.

I’ve started this painting last year, did as usual, in my own style, and step by step, took in account all the demands of this man. And then the painting went this way, slowly.

Painting a portrait on commission is something difficult : you have to put your impression and inspiration on existing figures. This is a strange experience.

The pressure also come from the fact that this painting should symbolize their love… Hope they will like it.
